Pick one horse and finish the level

Put most of your apples into one horse that already has a job. Race it whenever it is ready, feed for recovery when that unlocks another entry, and stop scattering XP across the whole stable.

The Man’s Best Friend badge confirms a level 30 goal. Apple A Day counts 100 apples fed to one horse. Both become easier when you commit to one main project.

Choose a horse you plan to keep

The newest hatch is not always the best leveling target. Look for a horse that can help with several goals at once.

Good signWhy it matters
The next stable upgrade needs its level or rarityTraining also clears a progression gate
It has Wise or another XP modifierApples move the bar faster
Its multiplier already earns useful cashRaces pay while the horse develops
Recovery is shortIt can enter more often
It already has winsMore races can advance a same-horse badge

Avoid pouring apples into a horse you expect to sell after the next hatch. Read the stable requirements, then choose the candidate.

Use feeding and races together

Apples give direct XP and can shorten recovery. Races also add horse progress while earning cash. The two systems work best as a loop: feed, race, inspect, recover, then repeat.

Feeding without racing spends your resource but brings in no payout. Racing without care can leave the horse resting through later entries.

After each finish, open the horse card. Check the level bar, multiplier, and rest timer. Those three numbers tell you whether the next apples should go toward XP or recovery.

Apple priority

Spend the next batch on the action that changes something now:

  1. Make the main horse ready for the next race.
  2. Finish a level that is close.
  3. Reach the level shown on the stable upgrade panel.
  4. Continue toward level 30 once the nearer gate is done.
  5. Give leftovers to the backup.

Do not empty your inventory into a recovery timer that will still miss the next race. Let the backup run and save a bigger batch for later.

Wise and other XP rolls

Wise has appeared with increased XP gain. Read the horse’s card for the current amount because one old percentage is not reliable for every roll.

A Wise horse can save apples on the way to a level requirement. It can still be a poor income racer at first. Keep your strongest multiplier horse active while the Wise horse catches up, unless one horse handles both jobs well.

If the stable needs a level 20 horse, stay with the same candidate until the gate is complete. Swapping targets halfway through is where most of the wasted apples go.

Run a short leveling session

Ten focused minutes can do more than an hour of random feeding.

  1. Note the starting level and XP.
  2. Pick a full batch of apples.
  3. Feed until the next level or race starts.
  4. Enter the target horse when ready.
  5. Check XP, multiplier, and recovery after the finish.
  6. Use apples on recovery only if another entry becomes possible.
  7. Send the backup when the main horse must rest.
  8. Stop at the level or apple limit you set.

Recording the starting level also protects you from feeding the wrong horse in a crowded stable.

Level for the stable, not just the badge

Stable upgrades can ask for cash, horse count, rarity, and a horse level. The live panel decides which goal comes first.

Current blockerWhat to do
Horse levelFocus spare apples on one qualifying horse
CashKeep the best multiplier horse racing
RaritySave for the right egg instead of overleveling the wrong horse
Horse countAdd an affordable backup, then return to the main target
No free slotDelay hatching until the leveling and replacement plan is settled

Values can change, so read the current panel before each long feeding session.

Recovery affects total XP

A resting horse misses race XP. Hurdle injuries can lengthen that break, while apples can shorten it. Silver has also appeared with cooldown reduction.

For a long session, compare total levels gained rather than XP from one apple. A horse with slightly lower apple XP but far more race entries can still develop quickly.

Keep a backup ready. That horse protects your earnings while the leveling target recovers and prevents you from wasting apples just to force one more entry.

Leveling habits to drop

  • Feeding the closest horse without opening its card.
  • Giving every hatch the same number of apples.
  • Spending all fruit on a timer that still misses the race.
  • Switching the level target before an upgrade requirement is done.
  • Assuming a high level guarantees race wins.
  • Ignoring cleaning or care interactions that add progress.
  • Copying old XP values instead of reading the live bar.

Route to level 30

Choose a horse with a useful long-term role. Use it as the main racer, feed to each visible level, and manage recovery so it enters often. Clear nearer stable requirements with the same horse, then keep going for the level 30 badge.

The route takes time, but every apple also supports racing, cash, and stable growth.
