Horsepower belongs to one horse. Choose the racer, write down its name and appearance, and check its current win record before you start. A win by any other horse helps the account total but does nothing for this ten-win counter.
Do not switch to a better-looking duplicate halfway through. Even two horses with the same rarity are separate individuals with separate histories.
Use a horse you already know
Pick a horse you have already watched race and that you are willing to keep afterward. Compare the current inspection cards before committing.

Ten boxes are enough
Write the horse’s name over ten empty boxes. Mark one only after its own record rises or the result clearly confirms its win. A rotation horse winning during recovery time does not get a box.
Use two checkpoints:
- At five wins, confirm you are still using the original horse.
- At ten wins, wait for Horsepower to register before changing the roster.

Race someone else while the lead horse rests
The lead horse needs rest after racing and can trip on hurdles. Feed apples when faster recovery helps it catch a coming race. Feeding also supports XP, so the care action serves the same horse you are already protecting.
You can race other horses during downtime to earn cash, but keep those wins outside the Horsepower count. Turn off any automatic setup that makes it unclear which horse entered. The goal rewards accurate repetition with one horse, not maximum account throughput.
Losses do not send you back to zero
A loss does not reset the horse’s confirmed wins. Collect apples, clean the lead horse, inspect the next race, and try again when it is ready. Avoid spending every reward on replacement eggs because a new horse begins with its own record.
If the horse performs poorly across many attempts, compare its live card with another candidate. Switching is allowed, but the new candidate needs its own complete ten-win sequence. Make that choice early rather than at nine wins.
Keep the chosen horse out of cleanup decisions
Before hatching, check capacity. A full stable can pressure you into a rushed removal, and the lead horse must stay. Avoid retirement until Horsepower has registered. The separate So Long, Partner badge uses a horse with at least ten wins, so the same racer can support that goal afterward if you decide to retire it.
Also preserve its identity when renaming or reorganizing the stable. Note rarity, coat, traits, and current level so you can distinguish it from similar horses.
Do nothing drastic after win ten
On the tenth confirmed win, let the result screen complete. Open the horse inspection card and check its win total, then open the badge menu. If the award is delayed, keep the horse in the stable and rejoin once before taking any retirement or sale action.
After confirmation, choose one of three paths: keep the proven racer for the 50-win grind, continue leveling it toward level 30, or prepare it for the retirement badge. There is no need to discard a horse just because the focused goal is complete.
